continued calm weather and seasonable temperatures

2/4/2024

I hope those in the DC area have enjoyed the full sunshine and calm weather conditions this weekend. This is the first time since 2023 we have had an entire weekend like this, and follows the multi-day stretch of cloudy conditions we had last week.
Monday will have similar weather to this Sunday, with ample sunshine during the day along with a northeasterly breeze around 10-15 mph. Temperatures will start off in the mid to upper 20s and afternoon highs will be in the mid 40s. Tuesday looks to be slightly cooler with highs in the lower 40s, as a northeast wind around 15 mph will allow for a bit more Canadian air to push down.
Dry conditions and seasonable temperatures will continue for Wednesday and Thursday.
The persistent onshore wind flow will lead to higher than normal tides along the shorelines for the next 2-3 days. The National Weather Service has posted a Coastal Flood Advisory for DC through Wednesday. Minor flooding is expected here during times of high tide. A Coastal Flood Advisory and Watch are in effect for Annapolis. Minor tidal flooding is expected, with the potential for moderate flooding.
