cooler temperatures through sat, followed by much warmer temperatures

4/26/2024

While much of this week has been dominated by below average temperatures in this area, that will certainly change next week.
For this Friday, temperatures are heading up into the middle 60s with a steady easterly wind. Temperatures tonight will drop down into the mid 40s. Saturday will feature a continuation of cool temperatures, with highs in the low 60s. There will be more clouds than sun around, and a brief shower will be possible in the afternoon.
Temperatures will climb into the lower to middle 80s on Sunday as a southerly wind flow becomes established. Monday, temperatures will top out in the upper 80s, and Downtown DC may even reach 90°. A cold front will swing through on Tuesday, bringing a chance for showers and thunderstorms later in the afternoon and evening.
