turning warmer this week

5/20/2024

While this day has started off with overcast skies in the area, I do think there will be some sunshine later in the day. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10AM for the northern and western suburbs. Temperatures will head up into the mid to upper 70s. Tuesday is looking a bit warmer with highs around 80°.
With a southerly wind flow well established, the warming trend will continue Wednesday with temperatures soaring into the upper 80s. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible late in the day from DC northward.
Hot and humid conditions will still be in place on Thursday. However, a cold front will be on the move towards the region, and this will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms for the late afternoon and evening.
High temperatures will be down to around 80° for the end of the week. There may be a lingering chance for a few showers and thunderstorms into the Memorial Day weekend.
