warm temperatures for much of the week

4/29/2024

Temperatures this Monday topped out around 90° across much of the area, which was near record levels. While temperatures may not reach quite as high on Tuesday, it will still feel like early summer. Morning low temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s, and temperatures will top out in the mid 80s in the afternoon.
A cold front will approach the region towards the end of the day. This will likely bring scattered thunderstorms, especially north and west of DC.
An isolated shower or thunderstorm will remain possible on Wednesday; otherwise, expect a day with slightly cooler temperatures. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s.
Expect a mix of sun and clouds for Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will top out in the lower 80s again for Thursday and upper 70s Friday. There are indications that the next storm system with rain may arrive on Saturday, but at this point there is some question as to whether any rain will hold off until Saturday night.
