Rainy wednesday leads to a 50/50 chance of rain on Thursday.

Scattered to widespread showers have been occurring today with the heaviest activity including a few thunderstorms concentrated across the I-95 corridor where rain has been locally heavy. The bulk of the rain should push to our east over the next few hours, but a few showers will remain possible all day.

Another round of rain is possible, especially east of I-95 on Thursday. The amount of rain as well as the westward extent will be dependent on the track of the low pressure, which currently looks far enough off shore to prevent any excessive rain in our area. For areas west of I-95, a general trace to quarter inch of accumulation is anticipated, with up to a half inch to the east of I-95. Any track further west would bring heavier rainfall to our area.

Following this area of low pressure, high pressure will build in briefly on Friday and the gradient between the 2 will result in gusty winds across the area. Wind gusts of 35-40mph are expected, with higher gusts in the mountains. Its likely our area stays below advisory criteria, and widespread wind damage is not likely.
