Around 7:28AM on Friday, February 7th, 2020, a short-lived one minute long EF-1 tornado touched down in Dickerson, Maryland, just to the west of a local farm located along the Potomac River near Martinsburg Road. At the farm, a few trees were downed and the roof was torn off of an older barn located on the property. Additionally, a few smaller buildings on the farm were toppled, as well as the metal frame of a windmill. The tornado then crossed Martinsburg Road, where a number of trees were snapped or uprooted, before lifting off of the ground at 7:29AM. The survey completed by the National Weather Service estimated that the tornado traveled one mile with peak wind gusts topping off around 95 MPH, and a maximum width of one hundred fifty yards. No injuries or fatalities were reported as a result of the tornado.
