February 7th, 2020 - 2020 Monrovia EF-1 Tornado

Around 7:44AM, on Friday, February 7th, 2020, an EF-1 tornado touched down near the 11000 block of Maryland Route 80 (Fingerboard Lane) in Monrovia, Maryland, where a barn and machine shed were completely destroyed, and a silo was also heavily damaged. As the tornado continued on its path, a number of trees were damaged around the junction of Maryland Route 80 (Fingerboard Lane) and Maryland Route 75 (Green Valley Road). This tree damage, as well as some utility line damage also occurred along Lynn Burke Road, near Old Bartholows Road. Additional tree damage was noted as the tornado passed Interstate 70 and U.S. Route 40 (Baltimore National Pike), near Jesse Smith Road. The tornado finally lifted off of the ground at 7:50AM, after causing extensive tree damage along Old Annapolis Road near Ravenwood Road, and along Bottom Road near the Woodville Branch of South Fork Linganore Creek. The survey completed by the National Weather Service determined that the tornado produced maximum wind gusts of 105 MPH, with a maximum path width of one hundred, fifty yards. No injuries or fatalities were reported as a result of the tornado.
