A survey completed by the National Weather Service determined that an EF-1 tornado touched down around 8:03AM on Friday, February 7th, 2020, within the Avondale Ridge Community of Westminster, Maryland, just west of Maryland Route 31 (New Windsor Road). In this area, a number of trees were snapped and uprooted in clusters. The tornado then traveled through downtown Westminster, running roughly parallel with Ridge Road. The snapping and uprooting of trees in this area lead to some road blockages and vehicular and fence damage. Some siding, roof, and shingle damage was also noted in the area. Further tree and fencing damages were noted along Hahn Road and Sunshine Way. In these areas, a vehicle was also blown over, as well as a military trailer belonging to the local National Guard Recruiting Office. A number of trees were also noted to be damaged along Lucabaugh Mill Road, near Maryland Route 27 (Manchester Road). The tornado then lifted for a short time before reestablishing itself along portions of Fort Schoolhouse Road, near Albert Rill Road in Manchester, Maryland. A tree also crush a portion of a residency in the area, with further tree damage along Park Avenue. Around this area, the tornado lifted off of the ground for good. In total, the tornado had an intermittent path of damage totaling just under ten and a half miles, with a maximum path width of one hundred yards. Maximum wind gusts were estimated to be around 90 MPH with no reported injuries or fatalities.
