June 10th, 2013 - 2013 Coltons Point EF-0 Tornado

The National Weather Service, after surveying damage, determined that a very brief EF-0 tornado touched down around 9:01PM in the vicinity of Colton’s Point, Maryland on Monday, June 10th, 2013. Minor damage relating to trees and roof shingles was noted near the intersection of Maryland Route 242 (Colton Point Road) and Bayview Road, as well as along portions of Beach Road between Charles Hall Road and Point Breeze Road. In this area, a tree was toppled onto some utility wires, and a trampoline was blown ninety feet up and lodged in a pine tree. Additionally, two large wooden play sets were blown over, with one being dragged nearly fifteen feet. After its brief stint, the tornado only traveled about a quarter of a mile, with a maximum path width of only fifty yards. Maximum wind speeds within the tornado were estimated to only be about 65 MPH, with no injuries or fatalities reported.
