May 30th, 2019 - 2019 Ijamsville EF-0 Tornado

Around 2:48PM on Thursday May 30th, 2019, an EF-0 tornado touched down near the Frederick County Public Safety Training Facility along the Monocacy River in Monrovia, Maryland. In this area, no structural damage was reported or noted, but a number of trees on the property were knocked down. Moving east-southeastward, the tornado continued to knock down additional trees along Reichs Ford Road, before crossing into Ijamsville. Within Ijamsville, trees were uprooted and large branches were snapped off of their parenting trees along Ijamsville Road, as well as along Mussetter Road around the Ijamsville United Methodist Church. Similar damage was experienced along portions of Prices Distillery Road, along Whiskey Road just to the south of the the Whiskey Creek Golf Course, within the community along Ed McClain Road, and along Green Valley Road. Around 2:59PM, the tornado lifted off of the ground after traversing approximately six and a half miles with a maximum path width of seventy-five yards. Maximum wind gusts around the tornado were estimated to be about 85 MPH, with no resulting injuries or fatalities.
