brief warmup before cooler temperatures return

4/23/2024

This has certainly been a chilly start to the week in Southern MD. We had 50-55° high temperatures on Sunday, and now two consecutive mornings with temperatures dipping into the 30s away from the shoreline areas.
A noticeable southerly wind will develop this Tuesday afternoon, which will allow high temperatures to be closer to average in the upper 60s. A fast-moving system will pass through tonight, which may bring a few showers towards the end of the night.
Any rain will clear out by mid morning on Wednesday, with clearing skies during the day. Temperatures will be able to reach the lower 70s. It will be windy with west winds at 15-25 mph.
A Canadian airmass will build into the region on Thursday. While sunshine is expected, temperatures will barely reach 60° following morning lows in the 40s. Friday looks to have highs in the lower 60s.
Daytime highs look to remain in the 60s on Saturday. Right now the day looks dry, although a passing shower cannot be ruled out for locations closer to DC. High temperatures near 80° will likely settle in on Sunday.
