briefly dry, then rain returns for the weekend

5/16/2024

The storm system that brought the rain Tuesday into early Wednesday has moved far enough off the coast for sunshine this Thursday in Southern MD. The rest of the daytime hours will be dry, and it will turn out warmer than it had initially appeared. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s, which will make this the warmest day in one week! A breezy north wind at 10-20 mph will remain throughout the day.
This break from rain will be short-lived, however. While Friday looks to start off dry, a storm system moving in from the west may allow for a few showers to arrive by the evening. Temperatures will top out in the lower 70s.
Unfortunately, as has become the norm lately, this weekend is looking wet and cool. Showers will be likely during the day on Saturday with temperatures holding in the 60s for much of the day. While there may be breaks in the rain heading into Sunday, soggy conditions will persist with temperatures struggling to reach 70°.
Drier conditions look to return on Monday.
