cooler temperatures settling in

3/18/2024

The first two and a half weeks of March have been among the warmest on record in the area. However, that will no longer be the case for the next several days. Temperatures Monday night will fall into the middle 30s, something we have not seen much of for the past couple weeks. With a continued northwest breeze overnight, wind chills will dip into the 20s just prior to sunrise.
High temperatures Tuesday will be in the lower 50s, and breezy west winds at 10-20 mph will add a chill to the air. There will be a mix of sun and clouds. We will be back to 60° on Wednesday with a gusty southwest wind at 15-25 mph. A dry cold front will cross the region Wednesday evening, leading to a quick drop in temperatures. Winds will shift to the northwest and will remain gusty.
Temperatures will barely reach 50° on Thursday, and it will remain on the windy side. The next storm system looks to move in by Friday night.
