generally dry with seasonable temperatures for early february

2/1/2024

Temperatures this Thursday topped out in the mid 50s across Southern MD, making it a pleasant day to start February. A cold front will cross the area on Friday, which may allow for a brief shower or two to pass through in the morning. While temperatures will reach around 50° early in the afternoon, north winds will be increasing to around 15-25 mph during the day, which will make it feel cooler.
Saturday will be sunny and seasonably chilly with morning lows around 30° and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 40s. There will be a steady northerly breeze around 15 mph. With a large area of high pressure in place, dry and calm conditions will continue for Sunday. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s with plenty of sunshine.
While a significant coastal storm is likely to develop off the Southeast coast next week, right now computer models keep this far enough away from our area. If this holds, dry conditions will continue through at least the middle of next week. At least through the Super Bowl weekend, the pattern is not supportive of snow in this area.
