intense heat and humidity returns

With this Saturday turning out drier than Friday, the drying trend will continue for the rest of the weekend. While there may still be a shower around into Saturday evening, most areas will remain dry.
A return of brutal heat combined with continued high humidity will be the main story early next week. Temperatures on Sunday will top out in the low to mid 90s. The heat will intensify further on Monday, with highs in the mid to upper 90s. The National Weather Service has placed the region under an Excessive Heat Watch for Monday. With the high humidity, it will feel as though it is up to 110°. This intense and humidity will not be going anywhere for Tuesday.
While Wednesday will still be quite hot, there will be a chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Cooler temperatures will settle in Thursday, although a few showers and thunderstorms may still be around.
