rain through wed; plummeting temps late wed

As of midday Tuesday, showers are heading towards Southern MD. The entire rest of the day will not be a washout, but expect rain at times. Temperatures have already reached the mid 60s with breezy southerly winds in place. Expect more showers to continue tonight. Temperatures will remain mild with lows in the mid 50s, which is more like our average for the beginning of May!
Wednesday will feature rapidly changing conditions late in the day. Temperatures will head back into the mid 60s again in the afternoon with continued periods of rain and gusty winds. As the main dynamics associated with a strong storm system move through, a period of heavy downpours with enhanced wind is possible late in the afternoon or early in the evening. Temperatures will then fall rapidly behind this activity, with a 20° drop from the 60s to the 40s between 5PM-11PM. Strong northwest winds at 30-40 mph will accompany the temperature drop.
Thursday will be sunny, breezy, and chilly with high temperatures in the mid to upper 40s.
